Happy April Fools Day!
Even though it's April Fools Day, the only fools we see are the ones
who didn't sign up to get our email newsletters. You're one of
the smartest people we know! ;)
Today is Jayme's first official day of The Road Show
(so proud of her!), so while she's out and about, I figured I'd send
you an update on everything we have in the hopper for Spring.
From Running for the Rose on April 11 to our pet-friendly Who's Your Doggy on April 17 - and much more - we've made it easy for you to fit a little "giving back" time in your schedule.
We also had an exciting day this Monday when we had a very fancy and
very fun photo shoot for a feature on Charity Chicks in a top Houston
magazine! It'll be on stands in May, so we'll wait until then to
reveal the details.
Thanks for being a part of Charity Chicks Houston! Hope to see you at an event soon!

April 1st-10th - Road Show
Follow co-founder Jayme and chick Aimee on their Road Show to prevent
suicide and raise awareness for The Jed Foundation. Today's their very
first day on the road trip, and you won't want to miss their antics on
the journey from Houston to NYC. Check out their blog (www.roadshowblondes.com) or follow @roadshowblondes. Along the way, you can dare them to do crazy stuff for a donation. A big thanks to Safety Vision, The Road Show's title sponsor and generous donor of the wheels for the trip! |

Now Through April 10 - Cards for Cancer
Charity Chicks is teaming up with Spirit Jump on a project called Cards 4 Cancer.
Now through April 10th, we'll be making and distributing uplifting
cards for cancer patients at local hospitals. We've already collected
over 250 cards and counting! Be a part of this great project and make
or buy some cards and brighten someone's day. See guidelines here.
Cards can be dropped off with chick Michelle this Saturday, April 3 at Cafe Express at Uptown Park at noon. If you can't make it to that drop-off, you can make other arrangements.
On Saturday, April 10,
a group of 10 volunteers will be dropping off cards at Texas Children's
Hospital for cancer patients from 2:30pm - 4pm. There are a few spots
left on the distribution team. Email us if you'd like to participate in the delivery of the cards. |

March 20 - CitySolve Urban Race
On March 20, Charity Chicks and Peeps were spotted racing all across
Houston at the CitySolve Urban Race. Think The Amazing Race mixed with
a scavenger hunt. Teams solved clues and face fun challenges all while
navigating H-Town by foot and public transit, all while wearing
creative costumes. A portion of the proceeds were donated to Texans Together,
the beneficiary decided upon by Charity Chicks fans through a vote done
on Facebook! The result is Texans Together has received a check for
almost $600 from CitySolve, so thanks for your support! Thanks to Crave Sushi, Lucky's Pub and Wunderfood for donating gift cards as prizes for the race winners! |

March 27 - Charity Chicks Chef Crew Supports Star of Hope Mission
Sixteen chicks put on their aprons and went to work serving lunch and
dinner to homeless individuals getting back on their feet at Star of
Hope Mission's Transitional Living Center for Women and Families.
We had lots of fun and definitely plan to do this again, so look out
for future dates. We're also always looking for group
volunteering opportunities, so if you have an idea, let us know! |

March 30 - Cards 4 Cancer Craft Session
Lots of chicks and peeps got together for a fun craft
session where we made cards for the Cards 4 Cancer
project. It was way more fun to socialize with other open-hearted
folks while we made our cards than doing it alone. Thanks to Gorman
Uniform for allowing us to use their conference room for our arts &
crafts! And thanks to chick Michelle and peep Obby for putting this
event together!
